While current desktop macs are not exactly PC clones, they run intel

Most ppl are quite happy being told what they can and connot do. Fine

I'd forgotten that I bought one of those. My guess is that these drives
are getting too cheap. :-)

I hate to say it, but Apple is shaping the future of computing. Oh well.

good money for over-compressed music. I have sometimes bought music

Ripping from one's own collection is a snap. Plus, people probably
already have a certain number of tunes in mp3 or other formats that
they want to put on a portable device. There's no need to limit
oneself to iTunes or Apple devices.

with the small size, not to mention that it was actually a beautiful

It just seemed like here I just want something to play tunes so
I can walk (dang my feet gain 10 pounds each if I don't have music
to walk to) and all of a sudden I'm loading iTunes onto my pc and
being asked a million things I don't understand ... afraid to say Don't
ask me this again? (laugh)

I didn't like that experience of being hooked into something like
that. And when I got the Sansa and found it did everything the
shuffle did and more, only way easier, it was a breath of fresh
air for me. Operating phrase being 'for me' as I'm happy you like
your iPods and I have no quarrel with that.
