Hi, can you tell me if lower back pain and cracking of bones in back is osteoporois and if you believe it can be the start what should I do?
Thanks:
Doris

The only way you can tell if you are developing osteoporosis is with a bone density scan. Takes 15 minutes and is painless. They scan the hip and the lurabar spine and they can tell if you have osteoporosis or osteopenia which is the loss of minerals in the bone, a precursor to osteoporosis.

If you wait until you have it, your bones just literally start to dissolve and break very easily with a lot of pain.

Don't wait and wonder, get tested so you can treat it if it has started. I have the early phase osteopenia and I had not one single symptom. If I hadn't been tested, I never would have known. I got it at 55.
