Easy, my best friend bricked his device back on his pearl with TMO. He was using a more recent OS than what TMO offered (not a beta OS either) When he sent his back for a warranty replacement, he got dinged $300 bucks when they were able to gather the OS # off it. Very rare, I know but it happens.
So while its usually safe if you know what you're doing to use a carrier's operating system other than your own, keep in mind there are risks.
If you have unlimited disposable income, do as you wish. Otherwise be sure to calculate your risks.
 
Oh really? I have to let my cousin know about that cause he has the Wing. Where can I get the upgrade for the Wing exactly?

Sorry to disappoint but I'm hearing from multiple sources that we're over a month away and not to expect until August. Might hit sooner but I'm fairly confident that this Saturday is not that day. It'll come soon enough!

I even think whoever buy other carriers' BB should get their services from those carriers, so finally their phones can match the carrier and services.
 
What I meant by "more control over the device", I was talking about the host of new tweaks you can perform on almost ANY application, most especially the native ones.
