Wondering what you think of the Mazda 5. My lease on my 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan SXT is going to be running out in the next few months and I'm looking at other vehicles.
We've had several Grand Caravans the past few years on leases. We are looking to probably buy this time as we don't really put that many miles on our vehicle. Most of the time its short commutes, though we take at least 1 sometimes 2 trips a year thats about 1200 miles round trip. We are just looking for a change from the Caravan.
Anyone have any good/bad points on the Mazda5? I seem to like the looks of the vehicle. It has the features that we are looking for, the most important are sliding doors and seating for 5 plus a dog kennel.
I like the fact that it's rated at least 5mpg more per city as thats where we do most of the driving. I've noticed that the 2006-2007 have 4 speed auto's as opposed to 5 speeds in the 2008-2009, so I'm leaning toward an 08 at this point.
After doing some checking around, they appear to not have any quality or reliability issues that I know of.
So what do you think of the vehicle, especially if you have one. Any kind of problem area that I should be looking at when I go to look/test drive one?
