Opinion on headers or factory manifold on a pontiac engine?

I have a 72 455 H.O. with factory round port manifolds that continually leak, I am debating on switching to headers but am not sure if the power will be affected all that much, I need some pontiac people to give me some opinions on switching to headers or sticking with factory manifolds, also not sure if I would need to have the head tapped for the header bolts or not.
 
get you some brass nuts and long studs, then double nut em.tighten them,put another nut on them snug it.hold the primary nut and turn the outer nut to tighten them on the stud. dont strip them.i think they are brass anyway. itll work. they wont loosen up etc. if the gasket keeps blowing, get them machined flat then double nut them.
