Opinion on a 2001 katana for my first bike.?

So I'm new to riding and have found a good deal on a 2001 Suzuki Katana 600. Does this look like a good deal to you? Is there anything that jumps out at you and says stay away? Any opinions will help. Thanks.

good question, i dont think this a a great deal to many things wrong and his first bike says he was very hard on it,high rpm's hard on the clutch, maintenance issues it could be ready to blow, i would say no not a good deal,i hope this helps
 
The only thing that jumps out at me is that these are not "first bikes". I know that compared to today's 600s they are not as powerful, but they are still not first bikes. Read the links below.
 
if its the one with the small oil leak don't get it because your looking at another 500 to 1000 dollars in repairs
