Opel Astra GTC vs Honda Civic 2006?

Hi, at the moment i am very confused between which first car to buy.... The price doesnt rly matter its more about all the other aspects. Please give me your opinions on both and which 1 to get :) Oh and both cars are 2nd hand!

GTC 1.4v - Year 2007
