Have used Nokia, Sony Ericsson and O2 xphone2 smartphone. so far i like how the contacts can be input and backup in microsoft outlook so easily in the O2 phone, but what i hated is that there are far too many unused programs and that probably causes technical faults with lags, poor reception, having to key too many buttons to reach my desired function which is little more than sms and calls.
i hope to get a simplier (hopefully cheaper) phone that serves the basic functions of a phone well, with this following specific functions
1. bluetooth compatible (for the wireless earpiece mainly, would it better if it is fast in bluetooth synchronization with computers but that is optional if usb cable works faster)
2. synchronize flawlessly with microsoft outlook contacts without hassle
3. able to read soft copies of textbooks, which according to my friends are exe (excecutable) files. this is one of the main thing as i wanted something that can allow me to do reading on the fly, and the screen do not need to be big.
4. candy bar (not clamshell) format, have a keypad (not touchscreen with stylus, without keypad) so that i can handle it in 1 hand
so far the PDA phone options available in Singapore (where i reside) is O2, HP-ipaq and Dell. i have considered nokia N80 as i heard it does synchronize well with outlook.
but some said that it will not be powerful enough to run soft copies of textbooks, and hence i must buy a PDA phone instead of nokia N80. and that is my main concern. is that true? must i buy a big bulky PDA phone to serve the above functions? if that is true, i would like to ask for opinions and recommendations if HP-ipaq is a more stable system than O2.
of cos, aesthetic, lightweight, slim, mp3 ringtone enabled, wifi, etc are all good to have, but they are all secondary considerations. and i dun need camera or any of those multi-media fancy stuff.
