only fools and horses - the missing scenes

In 'A Royal Flush', Del was supposed to be acting boorish and offensive at the dinner party. That was all part of his plan to convince the Duke to offer a cash payment for Rodney to clear out of his daughter's life. I think it could've been written better though, to make the audience more on Del's side. Maybe if the daughter had been more of a snobby character, and so we were willing Del to succeed in putting one over on her family, then he may not have come across as such a brute. But the daughter is written very sensitively, and so Del comes across as nasty in comparison.

Maybe a scene where Del tries to be on his best behaviour for Rodney's sake would've set the tone. And then, when he pops to the loo, he could perhaps overheard the Duke and his family/friends making fun of Rodney, and so Del starts to act the rude offensive sort to get revenge and take the Duke for a few grand. I think that might have worked better.

There is only one place you can hear this song that isnt cut.

that is on the official only fools and horses video cassette called 'danger uxd' - as this video has the episode 'class of 62' on it.

you can only hear 'mighty quinn' from manfred mann on this video casstette.

everywhere else - it's cut.

Those magazine number DVD's still have a couple of missing scenes (as I wont lie to you about that)

Jolly Boys Outing (number disc 18) sadly, doesn't have the mardi gras nightclub scene,(where Del and Rodders eat scampi) and is indeed cut.

however, its still best, to collect only fools in this DVD format, the number DVDS are so exciting to collect.

because you can say, right I've got 12, 14, 17, but I need 22, 25, 26 e.t.c...... lol

I'm surprised they kept using music in the later episodes if they knew bits of dialogue would have to be lost from DVD versions or remastered to leave out music.. Seems a bit shortsighted to me.

For those who are toying with the idea, of starting up an only fools DVD collection.

before you start purchasing, can I just say, you might be better off with the number DVD issues.

they were released in 2004 - it was an only fools magazine (that came with an only fools DVD) every week.

now, these number DVD's, can be found on ebay, they are cheaper than other releases, and they have less cuts.

there are nowhere near as many cuts on the 'magazine number DVDS'

for those who arent familiar with what I'm on about, it's these:

On the cuts page, it says something about, in the episode 'watching the girls go by' (where Rodney and Mickey Pearce do the bet)

Rodney is supposed to make a russian comment (speaks in russian) that has been cut.

now has anyone heard about this? I never ever recall him, saying something in russian?

Rob22. I assume that all or most of the episodes of series 4 were filmed with Pearce before he died, not just 'Hole in One', so they must be holding performances canned from the other episodes as well, surely?

It's a shame there is no way of contacting any of the actors in the episodes or people who worked on it to ask them what was filmed and what wasn't and what has been kept and what hasn't.

I dont know, maybe theres 2 pieces of footage floating around - 1 with grandad, 1 with Albert?

I always thought it was grandad looking up at Mike - because I heard the footage was never re-shot with Albert?

John Sullivan does indeed reply to fanmail, as I have his autograph, and he even put 'to Rob' on it.

even though he signs autographs - I'm not sure if he actually answers questions or not.

you can try asking him a question, but not too sure if you would get an actual answer to that question.
