Only Connect (BBC4)

That didn't mean anything to me. Is it some childhood rhyme I missed?

Edit: OK, Googled it - seems to be some American nursery thing, though now it's driving me mad trying to remember the original worRAB to that tune! :)

Edit 2: Got it: Tavern in the Town!

There's usually one or two questions on each board that are potentially gettable after the first clue. From all the heats (just finished) in this series, I'd say these 5-pointers were set up to be hit:

Block and Quayle
George Wallace
Friedrich H.T. Freese
Borda count
Tux
29 Acacia Road
240 tolars

Because the final's next week. This week was the Third Place Playoff. It isn't up on iplayer quite yet - it sometimes takes them a couple of hours to digitise it.

We had one last series with the 'Key-in-the-door' picture - straight away we said Bingo Calls, but took another to be certain. So much for being Gamblers. :D

Block & Quayle simply can't be anything else... Would have definitely buzzed then.

240 Tolars was very gettable, I knew Bananaman was 29 Acacia Road - whether or not you buzz is another matter.

Surely it's an extra 4? You go straight from 2 pts for 2 lines to 4+2 for a complete board just by getting the 3rd connection. Then it is also usually easier to spot the connection for the one you didn't solve directly when you see it in front of you.
