Only Connect (BBC4)

I must admit that I did quite well (for me!) on the missing vowels round this week, but as I'm still learning my Greek alphabet :o (for the first round) perhaps you'd better count me out. :)

I think that, for the final, she should do the connecting wall wearing a basque! (only to make it that bit more difficult, you understand :D)

Fair point. I was comparing them with the finals of the last series and the champions of champions game which were repeated over Xmas - and those were devilishly difficult. I could hardly get a single one right.

Actually, that's part of her charm (amongst other things - ahem) and what makes the show good - it's not overproduced or overscripted.

Would love to see her on QI to put her knowledge and wit to the test.

Nemesis is very forgettable though. I have it on DVD and even I jumped straight to the new Star Trek as the last connection.

Oddly, there was also a Star Trek question on University challenge that night.

I managed the walls with the
wombles
and
quarks
, but overall they are hard! On a few walls I got the right groups but didn't know why :p

There's scope for an iPhone app of this game. I was going to make one myself, actually, but would probably run into too many copyright issues!

Wall 29, "the wall of acronymity" is really easy. So much so I thought it must be a trap. The next one though, with numbers I found impossible, I could only recognise 3 of them, from "sport"

I was talking in jest. I'm sure that many people would know the National Theatre one - I wouldn't have got it right it you had given me 1,000 guesses.

I was well chuffed getting the cricket one :

Short - good - full - YORKER !!

Also , although not being any kind of a Cole Porter fan , i got most of his missing-vowel-thingies as well !:D

The Alesmen looking like the strongest team so far this series - though maybe a little lacking in pop culture.

Almost a fantastic comeback by the other team though. Who would have known that knowledge of Mr Benn would be so useful?
