In what way were Lovefilm a nightmare?

I posted 2 discs to Lovefilm on Monday and the next discs did not arrive yesterday. Usually it only takes 2 days, im not pleased.
 
It does seem as if Lovefilm are buying up the competition.
If there is little competition as a result of this, the consumer will lose out for sure.
 
Been with Amazon for a few years.

Had one disc totally unplayble (owing to it being snapped into 2 halves!) and one other whick stalled during the opening credits.

Both were sent back & replaced promptly.
 
Finally signed up with Lovefilm after managing to get two 90 day trials out of them. No problems with the service, or the website in fact. I use it exclusively for Blu-ray discs, and they seem to be building their inventory up all the time. I'm only on the 5.99 package, owing to all the downloaded TV shows I have to watch also! :D
 
Lovefilm's delivery was fine, but they make it borderline impossible to cancel the free trial which you can only do by phone, and deliberately send you discs one day before the end of your free period so they can charge you one month's fee for them.

They don't give you a grace period to return discs before the end of the free trial, and given the above, the free trial isn't free at all.

Personally, I saw that as fraud and I let them know it.
 
When I had to cancel my two seperate 90 day trials, I did it via their website. The last time was about 2 months ago. Maybe the process has changed, but when I did it I had no issues at all.
 
In 2006 when i canceled after my trial i had to do it by phone. There's a cancel account section on the website now so it seems the process has changed.



How much do blockbusters charge per dvd rental?
