Online author/ superhero question?

Now i remember reading an author online years ago. It was a continuing story about this superhero. Now what was unique about him was that he was not a super person. Much like the movie "handcock". This superhero found his powers during a suicide attempt. This story had a big family dynamic very well done. But then updates to the story started to slow down and one day there was an odd update. The story being told did not match how everything had been going. About a week later a friend of the author updates the site. The author had committed suicide and his last update was practically his suicide note. Does anyone know this story? Or the author? I goggled it but didn't get anything.
