One of my goldfish in garden pond has a wound and it is a bit bloody. What can I

do to help it? We have 7 goldfish and the one that is injured is about 7'' long. He has been swimming around quite slowly and sometimes he is on his side on the shelf where the water is quite shallow. I damaged the plastic net when I moved it when the pond was iced over so that they had access to deeper water. So maybe it's hurt itself on that. But we also have 6 cats. A heron also visits us sometimes. But invariably I always try and put the cover on most evenings!

In the wild fish do get injured and they do recover. The perennial debate over whether fish can feel pain rages on. But if asked, I feel they want to live. So let it be and see if it survives.
