one more....engine swap

i have one word to that. wife.......need i say more?

"you dont need another bike!" she says. well she didnt say that i couldnt get a new engine.

Oh I see. But really consider a C90. The same styling, perhaps you could get by, if found the same colour as your current C50?

loler coaster and a rofl copter. we have one of those relationships that if i were to actually pull that off, bring it home, carry on like nothing is different, and she find out later? we may have a bobbit case. the only difference would be that she would feed it to a dog. and let me bleed to death. :fight2:

In a word: no. Not like a custom bike, where you can swap engines and keep the same tranny, etc. The C50 is a factory bike, which means engine mounts designed specifically for that bike, frame made for one engine, etc.

You CAN soup up the 805, though. Get new pipes, a different intake, and a fuel processor.

I doubt you could swap engines, for a 1500 that is. The C90 tank is nothing but a housing for electronics, no gas. I think when all would be done you could buy a 90 for less than doing a conversion.

As for the original question, no, there is no motor that fits in the C50 frame, other than the M50 motor. The M50 motor is very similar and it makes the same power, so there is no benifit to this swap. The C90 motor is too tall, long, and fat to fit in the C50 frame. You could spend a boatload on mods, but in the end your C50 is still going to have less power than if you simply trade up. Take momma for some real long rides, going a full tank without stopping. When she complains about not being comfortable, take her to the dealer and have her sit on a C90 or C109 to show her the extra room on a bigger bike. Trading up will sound like a much better idea to her then. :bluethum:
