On Total Drama Island, how come people like Duncan and Courtney as a couple?

Okay, Duncan & Courtney are complete opposites! I think they are horrible together. People hate Gwen and Duncan together, but why? They have so much in common. Why does everyone like Duncan and Courtney together?!?!
