On the sims 2 castaway, how do you gain mechanic points?

im stuck on the part where you have to build a raft

go to www.gamefaqs.com you may just be able to cheat code all the points you need. Game FAQS also gives clues, hints and walk throughs.

you gain the points by building random stuff creating it so you'll be able to eventually get off the island

you go to the menu first and then go to building plans and when you are at the building plans you have to go to the box with the three circles or the first box. After you get there you find the raft building part and it will show you what you need, then after you have everything you start building the raft. GOOD LUCK!
