i have been taking sub for 2 years now. i was addicted to oxy, vic, and perc for at least 6 years. the reason i was on these meRAB was not because of recreational use! i had severe kidney stones alond with severe arthritis in my lower back along with hurniated discs. to make a long story short i turned to suboxone and feel like it has saved my life! i felt like a better person for several reasons and it made me feel normal again, then my insurance decided to stop covering it so now i'm forced to purchase what i can just to servive the withdrawl. would it be appropriate to ask my physician for tramadol?

Hey there scarysheri - sorry to hear about all of your medical problems. That's where most of us started out and ended up in various stages of dependency or addiction.

I think that you should talk to your doctor about your suboxone use and figure out how to taper off of it to reduce your withdrawals. I didn't take suboxone when I got off oxy, I tapered, so I can't talk knowledgeable about how to reduce suboxone, other than begin a tapering plan. Reducing your dosage 10-20% a week is usually what most people use as a rule of thurab. Tapering in the beginning is usually easier than when you get to the end and you may have to slow the taper down a little. Like I said, I didn't take suboxone, so I don't know the exact withdrawals that you might go through, but I would assume they are similar to Oxy.

There are people here than can help answer your questions in more detail. Good Luck!
