Have you brought him into the house? Make sure he has a nice bed to sleep in too. Puppies prefer to sleep indoors with a nice bed to lay on.

You need to take him inside and give him a bed. Does your house have stairs? Puppies and kittens on the Sims 2 can't climb the stairs on their own. With your sim selected, click on the puppy and select "Pick up". Once your sim has picked up the puppy, click somewhere in the house and choose "Go here". Your sim will walk into the house while holding the puppy. Click the puppy again and select "Set down". Your sim will put the puppy down and he will run around happily inside the house :)

Also, try pausing the game and click on the door while your sim is selected. Have you locked the door? One of the options is "Allow household only". If you locked it like this before you adopted the puppy, the game may have glitched and doesn't consider the puppy part of the household, and won't let him through the door. Choose "Allow everyone" or something like that (it's been awhile, i don't remember exactly what the option says). If i remember correctly, i think there was an "Allow me only" or something on the door locking options.. change it. Good luck!

If all else fails, hold control shift C and a cheat code bar will pop up on top of your screen. Type in "moveobjects on" (w/out the quotes) then hit the enter bar, pause the game, and click on your puppy. You can then move him inside the house. When you're done, do control shift C again and type in "moveobjects off".

Yeah i think just take it into the house and let it drink and get some toys and set up its bed.

Kevin, learn to spell before you start to insult.
