In all these discussions on tv, no one even mentions Rand's opponent. They don't say things like conway has much more conventional views or whatever his position is, they dont even mention him. And no one says Rand is a racist (no one responsible at least). With all the name/brand recognition they are giving him, his opponent doesn't have a chance. Its only helping him.

he is taking a similar position to barry goldwater, who, prior to 1964 voted and supported many civil rights acts which did not have the private business title in them. Goldwater, mind you, was talking about gay rights way before it was in fashion, and way before anyone even brought it up as an issue in washington.
