...junk yd. and i have the same p? oroblem. i am thinking about a aux. cooler & want to know is ther ANY OTHER WAY for the fluid to get into the radiator other than thru a bad trans cooler in the radiator. I am at wits end & ineed help desperately. PLEASE HELP !!

It is not so much the used raidiator but when you installed the first one. Did you flush the engine out good. you know some of that oil may of been trapped inside the block, and when you installed the second the oil left inside the block just recirculated. Also is the oil on the transmission going low or is the engine oil low.If the transmission oil level shows low then it is trans. oil. but if the engine oil shows low and not the trans. then it could be engine problem. good luck

I'd go with a new radiator because the transmission fluid is sent through the radiator to cool it off. The trans fluid is in separate compartments from the engine coolant. Over time, the wall between the two sections can corrode or crack, causing a mix. You might be able to get another used radiator but you could run into the same problem. That is the only other way I know of trans fluid getting into the coolant. The Radiator is the only component the two systems have in common.
