I have an exercise bike and it has the option to increase resistance. I notice on the display screen that when i do low resistance i burn more calories and go a further distance. On a higher intensity i burn less calories go less of a distance but feel as though i really worked hard. What does Resistance do does a higher resistance mean better toning?
Also someone told me exercise bikes don't really help to tone/burn calories it's only beneficial for better circulation. Is that true?

If its harder to pedal but tones you better does that mean it burns less calories?
My ultimate goal is to trim fat basically and have an overall better tone
what should i do
lower resistance or higher?
