On a Kawasaki 400 prairie what position is the cam timing mark when at TDC? I

set it straight toward top.? I heard it should be straight up instead of straight toward the top of the engine that is at an angle. Pushes air back through carb.
 
top dead center = tdp if you can crank it over and when it fires wil be pass mark if you crank it over and air pushes out spark plug hole its pass the mark
