On a '93 honda civic, is it necessary to remove the radiator to replace the fan motor?

No need. Your mechanic may say you but tell him to set the things. You can replace a fan motor without removing the radiator, but be careful.

hmmm i think you can but it will be tricky.. on my honda there are some fan mounting brakets between the side of the fan and the car...so i had to remove my radiator...this isn't that big a problem as im sure you know..just alot of hassle
