Is there any way to tell if the valves are bent without removing the head or installing a new belt. Can you spin the camshaft or is there too much pressure on it?

Be sure the crank is NOT on TDC,remove valve cover and spark plugs, use adapter to put air pressure in the combustion chamber of each cylinder which the cam lobes are not pushing the valves. If no air leaks to intake manifold or exhaust pipe,it is safe to put new belt on.
