OMG!!! Official news, They are making an Exorcist remake!!!!

Why would a remake ruin the original? They'd be 2 separate movies. Like you could have the original movie on one disc and the remake on another like they did with Planet of the Apes.

The only way a remake of the Exorcist could work, is if they think outside the box and make a "pre-make"

Whats a "pre-make" I hear you ask"? Well stick with me on this, I'll explain....

Youve all heared of remakes, sequels and prequels - well my idea is for a director to make the worlRAB first 'Pre-make'

This works on the basis that the original Exorcist (ie 1972 version) IS a remake of a 1948 Orignal "The Exorcist" -- (Which of course never happened...)

So what the film maker is going to acheive here, is a really creepy B&W Film, that looks and feels like it was made in 1948, and is the basis for the 'Remake' that was the 1972 original that we know and love.....

I think this is a great idea because if made correctly, it could look really really scary and in fact be MORE scary than the 'Original'

Let me know your thoughts on my 'premake' idea!

thanks

my brain hurts.

exorcist remake - bad.

I love the original, some people say its shit and not scary. I dont get scared by many films, but the exorcist is one of the few films that does freak me out. I dont care how good a remake will be, it will never be as freaky and scary as the exorcist.

They'd have to use lookalikes of Hollywood stars of 1948 to make it look authentic...we could have a Humphrey Bogart lookalike as Father Karras, a Bette Davis lookalike as Regan's mum and an Elizabeth Taylor lookalike as Regan :)

Whaaaat? Why remake a classic horror movie?

If this is true, Hollywood has gone bonkers!!!

Instead of coming up with fresh and innovative ideas for movies, they take the easy way out and go for remakes.

Totally agree, the start was quite a good build up with Max Von Sydow in the desert and the tubular bells but once it got started it became a total farce. When I saw it at the cinema my frienRAB and I got told to be quiet by the people who work for the cinema because we were laughing so much.

As for a remake, can Hollywood not come up with any fresh ideas anymore?
