OMG crying over a cold!?

I just broke down with this cold or what ever it is. I am miserable. I started getting sick saturday-face pain, head pain, neck pain, slight fever. Sunday I would stand and get so dizzy I couldn't remain upright long enough to Eat. I saw a doc (not mine) Monday and he said allergies. Start singulair and claritin D. OMG-I just can't do this! I am pretty strong and a cold usually doesn't bother me but this is horrible.
My face still hurts, my nose is running all the time, I have to keep kleenex in at all times just to keep it from dripping down my face. But I am so conjested still! My nose hurts so bad from wiping it. I dont know what to do. I guess call tomorrow. I have never cried out of pure frustration from a cold or even a sinus infection. Get me through this night. SHould I go to urgent care instead? I doubt MY doc can see me...

Hey, sorry to hear about your struggles with the cold that just wont shake. I think what the doc perscribed you would be a great idead to start, since you dont want to give an increased chance of a lung infection of some sort. I think i'd be safe to say that you might have some sort of sinus affection. Now I would keep a very close watch over the next 24-48 hours, taking your meds accordingly, and keep yourself hydrated. If you dont see a improvement, I would go in to see someone. But this was you can go in saying that you were feeling like this, you have been told to take these meds, which you have, and you either feel the same or worse. That way they can rule out some things and take more of a different approach when dealing with you. I hope you feel better soon.

thanks-I have just never had it this bad-I had my tonsils removed when I was 18 due to recurrent sinusitis, and haven't had it sense. Until now-I sound like a baby but this one is bad. I have work, school-I work twelve hour days and had to call in today-there is no way I could go back even feeling a fraction of this. My dizziness was so bad on Sunday that I fell over in the kitchen. I'M 31! I fell flat on my side. Thank goodness I am not having n/v. I can't go tomorrow without seeing someone tho- unless I call in THurs too and go then. I know a cold lasts 7-10 days, but this is like no cold I ever had. So, gonna keep with the meds. Drank a lot of oj today. I can sorta sit through class but work is not an option. ugh. I want to go to sleep but I can't even relax. I have no meds to put me to sleep either like nyquil. Couldn't drive again-did that earlier to get meds and that was enough.
such a baby, not normally...

starting to move into upper chest too :( starting to hurt in addition to throat and every where else! three kleenex boxes today and a trash bag full of used ones......

Sounds like you have the respiratory "krud" that is going around.

You are not a baby, this is not an ordinary cold, it is a viral infection. Keep watch that you do not go into pneumonia.

I am in day 8 of the krud and beginning to feel like I will live again!!

I think my meds are not good. My heart rate has been up in the 100's all day, I checked my bp 151/94! Of course, urgent care is closed and the ER is not the best choice. I hope I can get in early tomorrow. I still feel awful bad. Coughing more now, fairly non-productive and making my chest hurt. I don't know that I am having real fevers either-I seem to go up anyway through out the day which is normal. I just hope this other issue is the meds-I had heard that pneumonia was more prevalent this year than in years before. I guess if I spike a REAL fever I'll worry. So far not over 99.6 though when I feel fine I am between 96.9-98.3. So, I guess anyway you slice it is is a fever of sorts. I am not going to work tomorrow. I am still headachy, congested and runny. Now coughing. At least I was able to sneeze a few times today. My nose is sore though, the opening is raw and red and hurts and I am so dry even though drippy that my nose bleeds a teeny bit. Ick. I have to keep a 'nex with me at all times or I run the risk of dripping as I go. I sure hope things turn soon. I don't ever get THIS SICK! NOT even with a cold......

so I looked up the meds and neither had hight bp or heart rate. so, called the pharmacy and of course, the psuedophederine could cause the heart rate to go up but not as high as it has been. She said to call my doc and I did, so now a waiting game.....
