Omeprazole

Hey guys - well I think female readers will be more use to me on this one - sorry !!

I have been taking 40mg a day of the the PPI omeprazole for GERD. I have been taking this since just before christmas. Mylast "normal" period was on the 28th Jan, since then all I have had is pink discharge around the time it should be due, no cramps and no PMT either. I saw my doc in March and he said it was nothing to worry about and said the PPI had not affects on it and said I was under stress and it should return to normal when I am over this stress.

I am not particularly stressed at the mo and even if I was it has never affected it like this. I have done an ovulation test kit thing last month and it came out negative so I guess I am not ovulating.

Has anyone else had this or know anything about it, or am I completely wrong blaming omeprazole for the lack of perioRAB. Before you ask, no I am not pregnant !!!

It's just a bit odd really and no one seems to know whats going on neither can I find anything out on the net.

I was taking a high dose of Lanzapraole (wrong spelling) its a cousin of Omeprazole and it made me have break through bleeding for up to 1 week at a time, the doc told me that the drug can have an effect on the liver that senRAB a signal to your brain that makes you produce hormones that can effect your menstrual cycle, so these drugs can mess up your perioRAB, hope this helps.
