There is a rumour that Josh Hutcherson (Zathura, The Polar Express) has been cast as the new Damien in The Omen remake!

Appartently Josh Hutcherson won't be starring in the Omen remake as he will be filming a role in a new Robin Williams movie which is called RV and it will see Hutcherson playing Williams Jr!

How about the scarily precocious not to mention ubiquitous Dakota Fanning? Made to look like a boy of course...
Or Freddie Highmore from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Finding Neverland, seeing as Damien was a bit of a toff though he's probably a bit old for it.

I thought the new texas chainsaw massacre was better than the original offering. Ive seen the omen numerous times and its a great horror film but I am looking forward to the remake.

Obviously I understand why Hollywood likes to remake classic films, but I have to say sometimes I wish they wouldn't. It's not so bad when they try to give the film a different edge as in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory which I have recently seen. I wouldn't be in any rush to see a remake of the Omen or Damien or Final Conflict (because you know they must be on the horizon) but I would certainly pay money to see the original films on the big screen, if a re-release was a possibility.

I guess its a difference in opinion ive seen both movies and the original sequels. Still we have different tastes I suppose

This is a shame, but what can you do when big movie companies have a back catalog of classic movies today's attention-lacking teens couldn't be arsed watching because the hairstyles are over five years old. The original is perfect, from it's sense of doom, it's inventive death scenes, right up to it's eerily chilling "Corpus Minimus" soundtrack. If the remake makes use of it as a scene-for-scene template, then it should be successful enough to kick off another trilogy. It'd definitely have to rip the music, mind! One of the most iconic themes in movie history! Be like remaking "Jaws" without the "der dum... der dum...".

If it HAS to be done, i think David Dorfman may be a good choice for Damien, although he may be a little to old for it now... I just thought he was so cute in Ally McBeal, but creepy in The Ring...
