From Wikipedia:
Based on crater size and frequency counts, the surface of this western scarp has been dated from 115 million years old down to a region that is only 2 million years old.[12] This is very recent in geological terms, suggesting that the mountain may yet have some ongoing volcanic activity.
Many official sources claim mars lost it's magnetic field half a billion years after formation, and subsequently lost it's atmosphere to the solar wind. They say it lost it's magnetic field because 500,000,000 years after formation, it's core cooled and solidified.
It is also said, as quoted above, that the latest eruptions of Olympus Mons were like, um, 2 million years ago.
So, a planet without a molten core cannot field a magnetic field. But this geologically dead planet has active volcanoes.
There is obviously deception at work here. Are the talking heads lying, and if so...
WHY?!
