Thanks for the tip!

The word 'martini' isn't on anybody's obscenity list. As a name it's harmless- there's a character in "It's A Wonderful Life" with the same handle.

As for the penguin's more dubious activities; they're mostly just refered to, not shown. And he's reformed by the end.

I saw this last year, It was made by Matt Groeing with the same animeation studio as Futreama (SP)

FYI people get kinda ticked when Somthing that cant be reffed atall in toonami apears eleswere on the nework (outside AS)

I don't think CN had a choice in airing this special (more WB/AOLTW forced nonsense), so I'm sure they weren't up to editting it regardless.

Oh, good! I didn't miss it! I liked this special when it aired on Fox--it was different and cute, and I was disappointed it didn't air last year. Does Macy's still do Olive-themed promotions, or did they drop it?

Good to see CN picked it up--probably won't be as edited as it was (I'm guessing) on Nick. And I doubt a lot of people consider it "forced nonsense" for CN to pick it up except those who mistake personal taste with rock-hard fact.

First time I've seen this special since back in '99 when it first aired on Fox, and this time I got the Deus Ex Machina bit. :p

I didn't notice that anything got edited.

And I certainly hope CN didn't need to be *forced* to air this; 'Olive' is a more-original-than-average Christmas cartoon with lots of decent jokes; any station should be happy to show it.

Personal Favorite Moment: the confirmation that Rudolph is an Urban myth. Just as I've always suspected!

I actually remember first seeing this air on FOX years back and absolutely adoring it. I personally never read the book it was based on (until recently last week), but the show has since become one of my favorite Christmas specials.

Thank goodness it airs again. I only caught the ending yesterday and I couldn't see when it was on again on the CN online line-up. I'll definately catch the Wednesday airing. I remeber watching Olive for the first time on FOX and I loved it. I loved Olive since she reminds me of one of my own dogs, in terms of appreachance and being full of love. I also enjoyed it because of how I remember getting the book. I got the book when I was in the third or fourth grade and I remember buying it at one of the school's bookfairs. I read the book and I definately loved it. I've always been a dog person. I've always watched since the special's debut and it has become one of my favorite Chirstmas specials as well.

I've seen this twice, and I really like it. I'm hoping I haven't missed its Canadian airing (I think on YTV?) yet. I remember finding it absolutely hilarious when I saw it. It's got a fairly good cast, too.

I actually caught it last night on My Network TV. I thought it was pretty good.

I don't know. It does seem like they air some other good stuff around the holidays. I also saw 'Holidaze: The Christmas that Almost Didn't Happen' and 'An All Dogs Christmas Carol' on that channel.

I really wish major networks (especially with the Strike and no new episodes to air) would put more specials on this year, especially this one. I saw it the 2 times it aired on non-cable channel, and never saw it again. Shame. It was one of the last great Christmas specials made. No one has since been able to make anything as memorable.

And I absolutely loved the reference to Ultraman at the end.

This is one of those Christmas Specials that makes you wish that every one made had the same heart and originality as this. I've seen Olive a few times every Christmas and can't get over how well it was made - from the writing right down to the animation. I'm still pretty surprised that Matt Groening helped to make this; the style is different from his other works yet very faithful to the Olive book. I just love Dan Castellaneta's performance as the Evil Mailman, as well as Martini's quick wit. :D

I don't think the name Martini is harmful for kids to hear, as for his activities, that kind of character is all over the place on tv and it isn't bad for kids to watch.

I think the movie was pretty good when I saw it years ago and it's still good.
