Old Verizon contract phone to prepaid?

my mom has an old Verizon phone that was on contract that she don't need anymore since she got a new one and I was wanting to know if there is any way to make it a prepaid phone?

All you have to do is get the esn/meid number under the battery and enter that code online to activate the phone. To activate online you just log into your account and select your phone, click go and then click on activate phone and then enter the number I mentioned earlier. You dont have to unlock the phone or even go to the verizon store to attach it to his number.

no, verizon and sprint dont have sim cards so they are junk unless you sign up with them again.
