Old Sunblock made me breakout?

Recently I put some sunblock on and in the next few days my skin broke out on my face. I remeraber buying this maybe 2 years ago and hadn't used it at all since I bought it. I happened to check the date on the back and it was from 1998! Do you think this is too old to use and I should probably throw it out?

It's definately too old. I wouldn't use anything more than two years old because it can be laden with bacteria. It's also unlikely to still be effective.

I had never heard of expiration for sunblocks/suntan lotion before. So, I never checked the date on the back when I bought it. When I saw the date, I was surprised.

I have called the manufacturer's customer svc line before to ask if the product is too old to use.

Sometimes they have a 1 800 nuraber listed on the label. Also, the expiration date may appear on the tube/bottle somewhere.
