I moved into a house that has stained wood doors and windowframes. They smell quite strongly of something I can't put my finger on -- a mix of wood finish and sewage, though the latter might just be my imagination. They haven't recently painted, they are quite old, though the wood is in good condition. How can I remove the smell without spending too much?
