Hello all,

I am using an old reliable 2700 and have a weird problem...when I try to create a Favorite list the IRD turns OFF and back ON on its own. It does this when i reach the point were I have to select the channels. Otherwise the IRD does not have any other issues...Any ideas

Thanks

There is a defined limit to the total number of "favourites", this is the overall total from all fav groups you have set up

If you havent done this already, suggest clearing all favourites, then add 2-4 channels, and see if it saves. Then add more

Glad to hear I'm not the only person still using a 2700!
Mine is still working fine also.

For a while, I had trouble getting the remote recognized - and if it did, the remote action would then happen constantly for 10-20 times in a row. After tearing my hair out, having the box reset, hard-booting and powering off for 1-2 days at a time, it turns out the box was too close to the floor. After raising it to a higher shelf, normal function returned!

I haven't experienced your problem, but the other writer is correct about the limit of 120 choices total in all your favorite lists. As he said, try clearing the lists and starting again.

Another idea might be turn the system off for 0.5 - 1 days. If its been turned on constantly for a very long time, it may not have downloaded the latest software version. Mine needed to do that. I guess even the 2700 still gets some updates at time, even tho its not listed in the software versions here anymore!

You guys would be surprised at all the really old receivers out there.

We see 3500's, 4500's & 1000's etc almost every day.

Your 2700's are the new kids on the block compared to some of the ones still chugging away.....
