Old BA Business Class?

I flew from Australia to the UK in 1996, it was a British Airways flight and we were in business class. I was quite young at the time (15 or 16ish) and I have absolutely no recollection of what the seats were like. I've been looking through some old photos and stumbled across a couple of the Qantas business cabin, it got me wondering what other airlines were offering at the time (it seemed rather horrible to tell the truth)...

I've had a look around, can't find anything so if you have any info or pics that would be really great. Thanks!!!
Really?? Qantas has had biz since the 1970's, I didn't realise they were one of the only ones... It was definitely business class, the last generation of seats that didn't go flat...
 
I think they've improved it since then, but when I flew BA a couple of years back, the seats were in a weird "herring bone" configuration, so that your feet were beside your seatmate's head and vice versa. I actually flew backwards to London...the footrest was not electronic or even mechanical, but a little platform attached to the facing seat, which you released to lie flat.

Lufthansa's old Business had about a 45-60 degree recline, with an extending footrest. You still had the guy in front of you impinging on your space, if he/she reclined...not great...

Still, enough free booze, and you put up with it!
 
Most airlines didnt even have business class at the time, it was either first or coach. The idea is rather new, 10 years or so new, so that was probably one of the first years it was offered.
