okay.. phone question

I am looking for a phone that is either windows or palm based, (windows prefered, that I can use for web and instant msging, full keyboard a plus.

now for the trick, are there any prepaid plans from any carrier that would allow me to use it with data access..


anything?

or is the sidekick my only option?
 
There are plenty of phones such as the new Treo 680 (Cingular), Treo 700 (Sprint/Verizon), Cingular 8125/8525, T-Mobile MDA/Dash, and etc.

I'm not really familiar with prepaid plans though.
 
You could get the phone on eBay and hook up to the prepaid plans available. You don't have to buy the phones from T-Mobile, Cingular, and etc.
 
definitely and use the Wi-fi to connect to internet (no cost whatso ever) only avail on the dash, 8125/8525, but yes the sidekick you can do the prepaid sidekick plan if you wanna dish out $30 a month for internet. but i would spend the little extra on the wi-fi then u could get ur moneys worth.
