Okay ohm load for this subwoofer?

I have a 10 inch Alpine Type R...the sub came with banana wires i believe they're called, they work like speaker wire. But anyways I put both of them, negative to negative, and positive to positive. Then i put speaker wire from one negative and one positive to the inputs on the box. I believe that's a 1 ohm load and i'm hopeing it's okay for this sub because it says 2 ohm on the sub.
It's obviously dual voice coil, all i did was positve to positive, negative to negative, and ran one speaker wire out of each.
