okay i just bought a 98 chevy prizm and i am having audio problems?

when I drive 40mph or above, the radio/cd player works just fine, but when i slow down or stop, the radio/cd player stops...my radio/cd player will play if my car is on but the engine is not running it just wont play if i am under 40mph or stopped with the engine on,its really confusing why it does this does anybody have answers?
 
You mean a 98 Geo Prizm?

This is my theory, I think that somethings wrong with your alternator. I can't really explain it, but I'd say if you know anyone that works on cars. See if they can take a look to see if your alternators about to go out.
 
you might want to check your power line your constant you may have a loose wire, or it might be a faulty ground
