OK to drive with 1 broker cylinder?? Dodge SX 2.0?

I have this Dodge SX 2.0 2003 with 60k on it. Just recently one of the cylinders stopped working. I brought it to the garage and after looking at it for like half an hour, they told me that there was no compression on one of the cylinders and needs a valve job. They told me it would cost around $900 or so to repair it, or maybe more or less and they can't know unless they open it.
I left and said I would think about it. I wasnt living too far so I drove away.

I just now realized that I forgot to ask if it was ok to drive it? I cant really afford repairing this now...

Does anyone here know if it can cause much more damage to the engine if I keep driving it like 15-20 minutes every other day at like 30-40 mph?
Is it an emergency to repair this? Do I need to unplug the faulty plug related to the faulty cylinder to not cause more damage driving it?
 
If you keep driving it, the repair will most likely cost more.
Try to find some one to get the thing fixed real soon, these things only get worse with use, not better. Which means that you may end up replacing the entire engine when you get the 900 dollars to fix what is broken now.
Try to find a used engine maybe, or at least try another shop. It could be that all you need is a new set of plug wires or maybe a cam.
 
The dead cylinder is dumping raw fuel into the converter which will destroy it - other than that and the poor performance and fuel economy shot to hell - it's ok to drive.
 
Just keep an eye on your oil level. you can drive it but dont expect to do anything requiring power or high rpm.
