OK, so why isn't the public screaming for alternative energy NOW?

Well to be fair, it's about the extreme cost of ONE accident, more so than the probability.

But yes the probability is much lower now than then even.

But it's like the oil rig accident.

That's a low probability event too, but it's so bad that once is too many.

It's boring but if you know where to go there ARE actually some interesting things to do.

Seriously can not fathom why anyone though hybrids would be a good idea when we already had gasoline/diesel electric technology that is proven and very efficient.

Because spending BILLIONS on senseless wars to secure oil in the middle east is entirely economically viable

What if all that money had been invested in changing the infrastructure? Are you saying that the country WOULDN'T be a better place right now?

Don't forget the environment and economical damage the oil spill is going to create.

They'll be madder when the primary aquifers being drawn down to service the region are emptied lol.

I'm sure it's putting more political capital in the hands of alt. energy.

But total energy change doesn't "just happen"

Fuck the public. Just order the creation of the plants if you're that concerned about the environment. Can't attempt to achieve an ideal of conservation and environmentalism then get run around by the public opinion/ignorant fears.

thats cool

now make it as cheap as the conventional powered materials and we're in business

werd. Have a few less wars a year and the money issue will dry right up.

The more of something you produce, the cheaper it gets.

I'm talking manufacturing, transport, packaging, etc etc.. I really wonder..

Cause there ain't a motherfucking hippie without a cellphone!!!
