OK, so why isn't the public screaming for alternative energy NOW?

Nuclear power is the only way forward.

Fuck wind.
Fuck gas.
Fuck oil.
Fuck solar.

Hydro is already all tapped. Nuclear is clean, safe, and with modern reactors half life is only 500 years and can re-use spent fuel from older reactors.

Internalizing externalities is the way to do it within the economic system.

But when ever the government tries to do that they get accused of just trying to make revenue lol.

I get what you are saying, but I think the risks are so low that to ignore nuclear power is just plain stupid.

We can't move forward if we are scared of the risks and need to be ready to overcome new challenges.

In the last incarnation of the Farm Bill Bush made them create a research institution that has grants to study alternative farming, sustainability, IPM, etc.

It's pretty weak as far as actual funds and the proportion of the total bill's $, but it's a start.

Expensive compared to how much it used to be, not expensive overall.

Also your model about solving pollution and alternative sources is retarded. You completely ignore infrastructure.

The only way organic and environmental prospects are currently economically viable is if they are government subsidized. The only way they're getting government subsidized is if we're in a booming economic period with a democratic controlled congress.

Truth.
