test the dr ordered. i should be about? 4 weeks i believe because the 1st day of my last period was may 16, so when should i make an appt to get examined and everything else that goes with this? and the second part is, i want to drastically change my diet, im cutting out soda, junk food etc gonna start walking and sleeping more, is this safe for the baby? i mean i know its the best way, but i've had a miscarriage before and i just dont want to jeopardize this baby at all. i wanted to just jump into the new diet or is it something i should ease into. oh and i am taking extra folic acid supplements along with my prenatal.

You can make positive dietary changes immediately and it will not be bad for your baby. Start by simply adding veggies to your current diet. That will help with both nutrients and also stop you from getting constipated. Also add fruit juices. In a few days, add fruit and phase out naughty desserts. Try frozen yogurt instead of ice-cream (Stonyfield Creme Caramel Frozen Yogurt is to die for!) and then finally, take a look at your protein supply and see if you can cut out some fats. Change to lower fat meats, and be sure to keep up fish (or take DHA supplements if you don't like fish) for the baby's brain development. You'll both benefit greatly. Many congratulations!!!

If you went in for the blood test, I'm surprised they didn't tell you when to come back in. Just give them a call.

I think the dietary changes you mentioned are great. The only reason I could see not to jump into it is if it will be too hard and you'll give up. Otherwise you should definitely get healthy!

Your probably about 3 weeks. They take the date of your last period, and add 2 weeks. Then they start counting how far along you are.

Yes, it is ok to start walking more and sleeping more. That will be no problem. Also, if you are going to be doing any more exersice than that speak with a doctor first, you don't want to do to much if you are not use to it. Cutting out junk is perfect! You won't harm the baby at all....although now that you are pregnant, you may crave it more! I know I did!!

Congrats and Good Luck!

most definately ease into it. ever you do dont over exert yourself. thats the biggest mistake alot of mothers make.
just take it easy, you can jump right into the diet, but ease in to the walking.
