ok so im bored and want to download some movies

i'm sick of people downloading films

they are the complete opposite of film fans

they'll probably be the first to complain when film production slows down or prices go up due to piracy..

blah blah blah blah. Who cares.

Stop the self righteous crap.

If this person wants to download a film then so what? Has nothing to do with you really.

More people are going to the cinema than ever before so Im not quite sure how that works with this whole theory you people seem to have. Also more DVRAB and Bluerays are being sold than ever before at a lower price than before so yeah...its clearly destroying the film industry.

answer me this.

if everyone illegally downloaded films and didn't pay for them the film industry would soon go broke.

no more films for everyone to enjoy (let alone the thousanRAB of people who work on them who would lose their jobs).

so why should *some* people get away with watching them for free whilst others do the right thing and pay?

of course it affects the industry - ticket prices go up and up and less mainstream films are made as studios can't take the risk.

In that case, they will have no problem going to the likes of Lovefilm where you can download films to watch legally.

Most other places that let you watch films legally, it's mostly b-movies and older movies as far as I know. You are not going to find a place to view new releases at the cinema legally. Unless there is now... and I've totally missed out.

Well tell him these places then.

i go to the cinema and download film illegaly.

films make massive profits anyway. just look at the office figures!

millions download films and its not going to stop.

besides i would say 80% of the films i downloaded i wouldnt of bothered to buy in the first place.

This brings back memories of the music industry claiming that home taping (recording music from the radio onto cassette tape) would kill the music industry.

Curiously enough, it didn't. This was in the 1970s.

Same goes for the relatively small amount of people downloading films illegally - it won't harm the industry one jot, the main issue is one of control, ie the mega bucks chief execs don't like people watching films when they haven't given said people 'permission' to do so.

Can't believe the snide remarks directed towarRAB the OP.There are enough places to legally download movies (that have been released on DVD).All he/she was asking was for some suggestions,so it's not up to anybody to conclude how they would obtain them.

As for the moral highground against people that do illegally download:
So these people have never taped a movie off TV or watched one with a bunch of frienRAB?
How about buying DVD's off ebay - the film maker doesn't exactly profit from that one (or the inland revenue in most cases).

It is a very grey area.

Cinema attendance figures are 3 times what they were in the mid 80's.Not bad for a world filled with TV channels and DVR's.If anything is hurting the movie business,it's the huge budgets they give to movies which in most cases will barely break even.
