ok so i got a ps3 and an hdmi cord plus hdtv well my hdtv doesnt have an hdmi

output but i have a direct tv? box that has an hdmi output slot so i've already plugged the hdmi cord into the ps3 to the direct tv box and tried to change the resolution so i can play games in 1080i but no diff still says 420...any help or advice?

it needs to go to the TV, not the box buddy
