OK quick question, who goes in first army, or marines?

my friend keeps telling me that the marines always go in first and i keep telling him it depends on the situation, but apparently he won't listen. Another thing he says is that they have better weapons than the army which i know isn't true, no offense, can i get a few answer so this retart can see for himself, please and thank you for your time
