Ok, N75 is on the truck. What are the must have Apps and HAcks?

Just make sure you EXIT out of an application if you are done and not just hit the BACK selection. For some reason the N75 doesnt close applications unless you specifically tell it too. These will eat up your memory real quick and slow the UI down and cause Low Memory warnings.

Just hold down the MENU key and it will show a list of applications that are running.

NOTE-- You cannot exit out of the Music Player or Idle Screen apps.

hey baldilocks how do you like your N75. i am using a SE K750i right now but i wanted to change to a clamshell, but i just want to make sure the ui isnt as slow as say a N90. please let me know what you like and dont like. thanks!

The UI isnt as fast as my V3xx, but its not annoying or troublesome
I guess the only thing i would improve on would be having the apps close automatically when ya fold the flip closed or go back to the Main Menu. I would also like to see some animated icons.

Overall I am VERY happy with the phone.

thats the thing with s60...its supposed to be a smartphone. hence the ability to multitask. they can multitask, just not as well as most real windows smartphones could due to lack of memory. thats the reason why apps dont close unless you specifically tell it to close

This is a multi-tasking smartphone so of course the apps won't close unless you close them yourself.....as it should be. You're obviously not used to using S60 devices (or smartphones in general) as this is how it is with all of them.

Animated icons are now available on FP1 devices.

For a good "Must have" list of apps, I would go to Allaboutsymbian.com

They had an article maybe half a year ago on the must have apps for 3rd generation S60.

in my experience with winmo, you could open more and use it at the same time but it def got slower, and when it was too much for the phone to handle instead of getting a low memory the phone would just freeze and youd have to reboot.
