ok im trying to download a movie by using windows media player.. how do i do that?

please tell me without saying well you could by downloading this...im not going to download anything i just need to kno the basic of how to download on here and what file format should the movie be...ie avi,mp3,mp4,mpeg...etc.. and im only going to use windows media player dont tell me to download something else unless i absolutely have to

When a box comes up when you download it says "open with" then click browse and click windows media player.
