I have come to the conclusion that I am not really depressed, just have major Anxiety and Panic attacks.

Phobia's........driving, being in a large crowd..........wow, I used to be so outgoing now I hide..............

I am taking 10mgs of Lexapro, now three weeks...........is their anything you can recommend that is better for Anxiety itself...................not depression, just anxiety?????????

The Lexapro is very slow, still having issues driving..not good..........and feel like I am gaining weight, NOT MUCH ,,,,,,,,,,,, and exercising at a gym, and drinking plenty of water, and watching my diet, HOWEVER I want to much in the later part of the day...........

IS their something for Anxiety only? I am taking 1mgs of Klopolin as needed, and still having the anxiety.

I really think this has been my problem for MANY, MANY Years.

Please advise...........

I have no health insurance, so my samples of Lexapro are running out.........

What has worked great for your anxiety?

I have read Efffexor?

Wellburtin about killed me.........

Prozac great, but could not sleep........

Please, I want to beat this nasty illness.

Please help me......................now........................:(

you know whats interesting, you said this started 10 years ago, you used to be outgoing, did anything major happen in your life that caused this change? or were you going through any major life issue at the onset?

Oh my, it's always interesting to me when people couldn't sleep on Prozac, because I am totally OUT and have such a hard time waking up! I went off of Prozac to see if it was possibly making me more tired, but no luck! I think I must just BE this way due to tiring myself out from being anxious. I took generic Prozac. I'm not sure how much a difference it can make, but I know even with the same active ingredients, some people report big differences in how a medication works! It did help relax me though.

I do take Xanax as needed and it works for me, but I try to not take it too much since it's addictive. Have you tried it? I also take generic and don't have any complaints about it. No side effects other than feeling a little tired when it kicks in, which is normal since it SHOULD do that.

I am somewhat in the same boat as you, although I feel like I have some depression on and off. Sometimes I think my depression may just stem from my anxiety... it's very possible to feel depressed when anxiety gets out of control. I understand how you feel about panic disorders. I have developed agoraphobia and struggle to go places and it's killing me. I'm just not the same person I was. I really need to go buy some more work clothes, but I get so uncomfortable at the mall, although I love shopping. It's more of the being out in public with strangers issue... I don't feel safe and feel like people are constantly looking at me and getting too close.

I hope you start to find relief in some ways! I'm not sure if Xanax would help you more than your current medication, but you can always look into it. In addition to medication, I try to do pilates/yoga to relax, work out regularly, eat healthy, and I try to ease myself into situations that typically make me uncomfortable. I feel that if one is to completely eliminate things that make you feel uncomfortable, it will be even more difficult if you absolutely have to do them. Take small steps at a time! And don't you worry about people being tired of your posts, because we're all here to help and definitely don't mind! So many of us are in the same boat, struggling with anxiety in some way or another. Hopefully we can all help each other out!

Actually right before my father my best friend passed away..........it started.:(

Hugs and thank you............

I know I need to be on something, for anxiety and mild depression, but finding the ONE is hard..........

Okay, Well medication is good, but you also need some expert advise and I recommend you to consult a Anxiety specialist.

Himmy, we would never get tired of you. We do want to see you get this under control and with your posts it allows us to keep tabs on how your tackling this beast. Effexxor XR was the very first anxiety medication I took back when this first started for me. It did work well but I found that it was something that I couldn't miss once I started. I tried to go back on it again during one of my relapses but I found it made me angry, or so I was told by those closest to me. It is a time release capsule or so it use to be, give it a shot Himmy if you are given the opportunity.

When I had anxiety they put me on Buspar. I don't know if that is still prescribed? It worked well. It was strictly a long-acting (non-narcotic) anxiety med, not an anti-depressant.

What works for me now is making efforts to stay mentally healthy. Prayer helps me a lot, meditation and hypnosis, exercise boosts my mood, I try to eat the right fooRAB to get the proper nutrients to my brain, skip the caffeine and the alcohol, etc. I still have occasional anxiety but can usually get through it without meRAB. I don't take any daily meRAB any more. I keep a Rx of Valium around in case I have a whopper of a panic attack and for flying (I'm terrified of flying) but other than that, I just try to manage my anxiety with lifestyle.

I will do that..............thank you.............I wonder if that one comes is a Generic? No health insurance til I find a job.

Thank you for always being there for me...........don't know what I would do without you.........

Don't think there is a generic form, or there didn't use to be anyway. It's been a while since I had that one so maybe they did make a generic by now.
