ok i have a suicidal fish?

i got this fish at the fair so i brought him home and he's kinda just freaking out. like hitting his head on the glass and stuff... that isn't normal is it? one more thing... i don't have food until later tomarrow. will he live till then? if not are there any other foods that i can feed a gold fish other than fish food??
i don't want him to die... i just wasn't expecting to win a gold fish today. i luv him a lot... if i didn't then i wouldn't ask how to keep him alive.

He can live for up to 20 years you could grow up together, how evr, you would need this to get by with him...

30gallon tank, with 60gall worth of filters
Lots of food, aqarium sand, and some decorations. He is probably a comet goldfish and will only live about a month without a filter, and a big old tank!
 
umm... you could try little brown rice. like sprinkle 2 inside and see if he likes it. And try and dim the lights, and make it comfortable for him.
He will live wihout any food until then.
